I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

Clouded Moon

Walk outside
down the steps
to a full view of the sky.

Stand still
look up
in the right direction.

Once again
fail to see
the glowing white orb you love.

Knowing
she’s there
blow a kiss anyway.

See: this practice
is becoming
a ritual of keeping faith.

  1. I agree with 'see' in the 3rd verse. Ties well with the last stanza.

  2. Thanks, Jen; I've done it. :) (Now pondering replacement word for 'seek'.)
