I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

Let Us Walk Together in the Moonlight

And if I do
walk with you
in moonlight

whisperer
from the past,
dearest ghost

can you prevent
my sad intent
to go on

walking the white
path of light
up to heaven

there to remain,
no more alone
but with you?

Perhaps it's best
that for now I rest
here, my dear.

  3. Oh, this is so sweet and tender. But yes, rest with us a while, for we need you.

  4. It seems the protagonist has taken on the wraith-like qualities of their beloved, with head in one world and heart in another.

  5. I love the short meaningful lines throughout this piece as not a word is wasted to convey the thoughts of a widow talking to her dead lover.

  6. There is a gentleness mixed with longing in this piece. The speaker is a sound soul, with a heart that's the size of the moon.

  7. Oh the urge to follow those we love who have gone before us. This is really lovely, though sad and lonely as well,,,
