I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

Lovers' Morning

Dawn whispers curl,
so hot they scar the breath,
cue sparks.
Clouds and shadows open.
We leave them ajar:
roses spill on the breeze.
Spring-green, scented
zephyrs skip and twist,
shimmer and melt.
Our grins bubble
into laughter without lull
as morning dances.

Written for Quadrille #25, dawn at dVerse. This one uses all the prompt words from Quadrille #1-25, in reverse order.

  1. I think you were able to meet the challenge of using all the words in reverse order so the reader does not give up on the corresponding challenge of making sense out of it. The use of "we" and "our" keeps the reader focused on finding meaning.

  3. I love that dancing morning. As your summer becomes fulsome, our winter begins to tiptoe away heralding spring...........yippee.
