Another response to the dVerse tenWords prompt, These are new pieces, written specifically for/in this form.
Although when it comes to poetry I am decided dilettante, I do know what I like, and I like this! In fact I 'like' and often love most of your poetry. It's also lovely to read that you are kind of meditating with Levi, an open-eyed meditation. ox
ReplyDeleteYou really capture the stillness of heat. Love the mood of the lizard one...excellent!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the lizard one.. it took me there -- watching
DeleteThey are very watchable - when one gets the chance.
Deletehumorous these ones, love.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your taking the trouble to read all three of my posts on this prompt.
Deletethese ones really work together...all individual, but forming a greater whole.
ReplyDeleteAh, now that you mention it ...
Deletehaha.....the garment left behind is a good sign indeed....
ReplyDeleteused to love watching the lizards when we lived in florida....
The water dragons are quite shy; that's why we didn't dare move. (As for it, it was trying to be invisible by keeping still.)
DeleteI do love each one!! The discovery of it all! But, oh, the second one?
ReplyDeleteI made it ambiguous; could be a lover. It was really my son, who lives interstate. He and his family just left after a few days holidaying here, and afterwards I discovered his belt in the bathroom. I have heard a psychologist say that 'accidentally' leaving something behind signifies a desire to return.
DeleteIt is nice to know summer exists somewhere in the world..........these are lovely, Rosemary. I love porch weather!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlas, we don't have that until (sometimes) very late in the afternoon when things cool down a bit. But we make the most of it for those moments.
DeleteLove the feeling of summer and wish I was with you watching that lizard.
ReplyDeleteThey are fascinating creatures, very dragon-like in appearance.
DeleteSo much for watching the water lizard. Bet it was a nice moment though before the child spoke up and scared it away.
ReplyDeleteThey were separate incidents really, which happened at different times.
DeleteI especially like the cat and lizard tenWords!
ReplyDelete*Smile*
DeleteI specially like the one of the water lizard ~ Third time's a charm, smiles ~
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm grateful to you and others for reading all three!
DeleteI have to agree with the others the lizard one just really stands out and I find myself wanting to watch..
ReplyDeleteThat makes me smile.
DeleteSo reminiscent of our Summers here in South East Spain, the cool porch after a hot day and watching lizards catching insects for supper.
ReplyDeleteAh. My late husband dreamed of taking me to Spain, which he fell in love with as a young man, but we never managed it. I am always pleased to learn anything about it.
DeleteI too was captivated by your lizards. :)
