Bed-Fellow

Even before
I open my waking eyes,
I feel his body
snuggling warm against mine.
My ears fill with his purring.

Submitted for dVerse Meeting the Bar: the Blind Poet
which asks for a poem using senses other than sight.

    1. Give him time. (Smiles.) My two weren't at all cuddly when we first got them, 16 years ago. Now they love a smooch.

    1. In reality this happens when he decides to join me during the night. Waking me up in the morning for breakfast is accomplished with loud miaows.

  9. I had a cat once which was a reliable alarm clock. It timed itself perfect in the mornings and I got up easy and smiling upon hearing the purrs! Nicely Rosemary!
