After the Election

After the election
I wake reluctantly
to a cold morning.
Out there, kookaburras
are laughing harshly.

  1. Not good election results? Oy. Well may the kookaburras laugh.

    1. A close thing. We still won't know for several days who has won or whether it will be a 'hung parliament'. Not the resounding left-wing victory I had dreamed of! And, for the seats we do already know, while I am pleased about the success of some candidates, I am horrified by some other results. In any case, this election seemed to me a matter of voting for the 'least worst' party. :-(
