I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

Micro/Macro

I'm having another go at the latest dVerse prompt, writing micropoetry about macrophotography (as I misunderstood the latter term last time). This time the verses, instead of exactly 140 characters excluding spaces, have even fewer.

Insect View

fleshy red petals
catch the light
which draws us in
to the dark centre

Flower Photography

Side by side
twin sisters
turn their faces
up to the camera.
One is more forward
slightly edging out the other.

Revealed

Rubble
set in concrete
for my feet to tread …
up close
each tiny pebble
becomes a jewel.

Far from the Sea

Far from the sea
I conjure it,
gazing at stones
which I magnify
into rocks,
on a concrete step
which becomes
a stretch of sand.

Contrasts

Through restful green
a tiny glimpse of pink:
the jade bush
on the balcony,
contained in its orderly pot,
above the profusion
of bright geraniums.

Jade Plant

At my door
to bring me luck,
under the overhang
it grows spindly.
The leaves stretch forward
seeking more light.

  1. What a scenery.. Like pictures on an exhibition ... The concrete was a nice picture to write on connecting it to dreams of beaches.

    1. Thank you. I enjoyed that one best; I expect it shows. The flower photo really surprised me, the way it turned out.
