I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

‘May the Road Rise to Meet You,’ I Said, and She Said:

What does that mean? I feel like
I just climbed a mountain.
What you want from me?

I don’t wanna climb anymore …
can’t I just walk downhill please,
to the next flower maybe?

May the road be winding and wonderful
(Feels like a tightrope at the moment.
Talk about straight and narrow.)

Found poem: found in a comment on one of my facebook posts. I couldn't resist shaping it into the poem I thought it wanted to be.

Later: Linking to The Tuesday Platform for 20 Feb. 2018 at "imaginary garden with real toads".

    1. That was pretty much it, the whole comment. My friend didn't need to elaborate, because I know what she's been dealing with.

Relationships can certainly be subjected to such elements. Very true Rosemary!

  6. True creativity here...use it all because everything can be inspiration...sometimes you have to respond to prepackaged pithy sayings with a dose of reality!

  8. A tired soul wants the easier road. A great found poem. I wonder what the writer was going through?

  9. A rising road does sound terrible if you've been marching uphill with no rest for too long!

  11. To find that downhill road is sometimes all that matters. Still we continue to climb.

  12. Facebook comment poem! That's great. And the ending is great too. Can't get much straighter or narrower than a tightrope.

  13. Nice journying, Rosemary. Yes downhill is easier but what they say is pretty well correct, "What goes down should come up." Especially appropriate for snow skiing or sledding.

  14. It is one thing to experience and enjoy the wild freedom of a country walk quite another to wear out your legs, break into a sweat and can think of nothing better than putting your feet up in your favorite chair...at home. No more for me as my legs had the casting vote. Been there, done that!
