Has no-one told you yet
what women want?
Perhaps it's because
there are so many answers
to that question; perhaps
if you had a week or two ...
But here's an answer
I think true — we want
to be beautiful, seen
to be beautiful, admired
for our beauty. And
we want to be loved
for other qualities.

I hate to admit that this is completely true. I'd like to think the outer form carried less significance; but vanity and value place on appearance seem ingrained.
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteAnd yet, like Kim Nelson, I want none of beauty's traps, because to be beautiful also means to be an object for someone's pleasure.
Ahhhh; we're so complicated.
to be beautiful, seen

I'm all for that, Rosemary! A pretty lady is a joy to be seen with and to love. No two ways about it! Nicely!

yes tricky indeed - tell them they are beautiful but without implying you are only with them for that reason - and make it seem sincere or as if you do not just want something - hmmm i am sure I am missing something can I make it up to your later??
ReplyDeleteYou guys have confirmed my impression of the male point of view, lol. Ladies, I was trying to say that although we are conditioned to want to be seen as beautiful, we are smart enough to want to be loved for deeper, more lasting qualities.
