I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world, to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

Red leaves and a small green frog: haiku and things for May 2007

4/5/07:

Clinging to this tree,
red leaves and a small green frog
make me weep. But why?

12/5/07:

In this warm autumn
the wattles are flowering
as if it were spring!

15/5/07:

In the photo ...

Sudden spring blossoms
encrust the branches thickly,
each bloom delicate.

The cat is watching
from behind glass, ducks resting
unaware, serene.

18/5/07:

It's raining again
all over the drought country.
It sinks in. We weep.

24/5/07:

These warm autumn days
deceive the senses until
sunset, 5 p.m.
