I ... entered the poem of life, whose purpose is ... simply to witness the beauties of the world,
to discover the many forms that love can take. (Barabara Blackman in 'Glass After Glass')

This blog is not, 'Here are my very best poems'. It's for work in progress, subject to revision.

About This Blog

Poems – mostly new, sometimes old, not necessarily in chronological order.

ALL MATERIAL HERE IS COPYRIGHT and may not be reproduced without written permission. This applies also to the orchid photo which I use (with permission) in place of a profile image.

My work had a lot of print publication during the seventies to nineties, when I was very interested in fame and prestige. Now that I am in my crone years, I prefer to play with poetry online; even when I submit to literary publications, they are most likely to be online ones.

Most of the poems here are initially posted as first drafts, but don't necessarily stay that way; revisions are incorporated from time to time. My friend Connie Williams sees poems as living things, continually evolving. This blog could be viewed that way.
